Traveling through Time - Daytrip to the Cotswolds

Setting foot in the Cotswolds is similar to traveling through time. During our day trip to these small English villages, we discover a world unchanged from medieval times - except for the modern shops!

When we were planning the winter travel schedule, we decided to keep it close to the UK. However, much of our time was spent in MK and I was getting restless. During our chats with friends, they highly recommend the Cotswolds, which is only an hour and a half away.Since we didn’t technically have any plans for Valentine’s Day, I used that excuse to plan a trip! Deep diving into UK newspapers and Lonely Planet, I discovered a neat driving route where we could see 6-7 villages in less than a day. Granted I was counting on these villages being very tiny…For the hotel, I decided to do something nice and get a real swanky boutique hotel in Cirencester called the King’s Head Hotel. Surprisingly (or perhaps we should have known!), there are a lot of hotels in the Cotswolds called the King’s Head. Something tells me the king was not that popular in these parts…

Since we had a very busy day planned, we had an early start for Mary Frances’ standards. We drove through farm land and idealic English countryside and it really only took an hour and change! We also weren’t on any major motorways so it was a really nice drive there.
